Sectionable Tensioning Rod (With Splice Sleeve)
Sectionable Tensioning Rod (With Splice Sleeve)
Designed to support the mechanical traction of conductor cables during the maintenance of suspension or anchoring insulator chains, where their lengths differ from conventional standards.
This rod is made up of three parts: the live (energized) rod, the dead (de-energized) rod and the fiberglass splice sleeve, which is the central tube responsible for joining the live and dead rods.
Made from RITZGLAS® Ø 51 mm tube, each has a fork-type bronze alloy head for connection to the yokes. The splice sleeve is manufactured by a special process, with reinforced fiberglass, Ø 76 mm external and has 8 equidistant holes every 100 mm, making it possible to mount the poles live and dead, within the pre-established lengths.
The poles can also be combined with tensioning bolts in lengths of 305, 610 and 915 mm for an additional gain in overall length.
Live or dead side rods, splice sleeves, tensioning screws or cotter pins can be purchased separately as spare parts.
Length: minimum 3.15 m | maximum 3.75 m
Nominal working capacity: 4536 daN (10000 lb)
Approx. weight: 13.90 kg (30.64 lb)
NOTE
Although the splice sleeve is manufactured to a standard length of 1.12 m, the live and dead poles can be purchased in special lengths to suit the types and voltages of each company’s networks. For such supplies, which will depend on the chain arrangements, the drawings of the chains must be sent to our engineering department so that a technical feasibility analysis can be carried out.
