Protective covers for fuse cutouts and Hookstick Switches
Ritz covers insulate fuse cutouts and hookstick switches during maintenance on distribution networks, preventing accidental contact with energized parts and short-circuit closing. The line runs from point protection of the fuse cutout to full enclosure of the hookstick switch and its housing, in rigid and flexible versions, for different voltages and installation methods.
The decision comes down to three questions
- What you need to protect: the fuse cutout, the full hookstick switch, or the housing.
- The network voltage: models range from 17 kV to 36.6 kV.
- How you will install: live contact or remotely, with a hot stick, keeping the lineman out of the risk zone.
All are ozone- and UV-resistant, in high-visibility orange, and undergo an applied voltage test in the manufacturing routine.
- RC406-0009 – Fuse cutout cover
Protects the fuse cutout against accidental contact. Held by a pin that locks behind the insulator and rests on the metallic bracket of the switch. Aluminum handle allows remote installation with a hot stick, keeping the lineman away from the energized point.
- COB28494-1 – Hookstick switch cover
Protects the full hookstick switch. Installed by enclosing the two insulator sheds and held by pressure. Metallic bracket with a hot-stick adapter.
- COB13345-1 – Hookstick switch housing cover
Insulates the hookstick switch housing from energized parts during jumper installation and removal or other work on the switch. Designed for 15 and 23 kV networks, built from two plain sheets that, partially open, enclose the base of the insulators and lock with insulating nuts.
- FLX32663-1 – Flexible rubber cover for fuse cutout
Temporary insulation in flexible rubber for an energized fuse cutout, protecting against accidental contact and short-circuit closing during maintenance. Unlike rigid covers, the flexible rubber conforms to the shape of the switch. It has a suspension eyelet on the side and two eyelets for locking buttons on the lower part, for secure fixing.
