Cradle
Cradle
There are three basic cradle solutions to meet the most diverse maintenance and insulator replacement requirements.
All of them are built with RITZGLAS® tube and allow work on anchor or suspension chains from 110 to 800 kV.
| Simple cradle
Generally used in 110 to 230 kV chains, supported by a pair of bar poles or tourniquet poles.
| Cradle with socket
Used in 345 to 500 kV strings and in combination with cradle supports to allow insulators to be moved.
| Cradle with support (side opening) for extra high voltage
Used in anchor chains up to 800 kV to allow the removal of single or multiple chains.
Simple crib
Used for changing insulators on the chain itself or for lowering the chain to the ground. In anchor chains or angled chains, this cradle is used in conjunction with support poles. In “I” suspension, it is used with tensioning poles.
Constructed from RITZGLAS® Ø 38 mm tubes, this series of single cradles has two steel pins at the front end, which are used to support the insulator chain with a pair of clamp poles or tourniquet pull poles.
At the rear end of the cradle there are large eyebolts and ropes to attach to the structure as an anchor point. Once articulated, the insulators can be raised or lowered to a more suitable position so that those that are damaged can be replaced.
When there is no need to lower the insulator chain, the cradles are installed in the lugs located on the yokes attached to the tensioning rods.
Cradle with insert
It is used to change insulators in chains up to 500 kV. It is also necessary for lowering a chain of “V” insulators or anchoring and
for raising “I” suspension insulators.
The deep shape of the cradle is a safe way to prevent the insulator chain from accidentally falling. It is also reinforced by the upper insulator retaining plate, which keeps it secure during transportation.
The insulator plate has dual use: on one side it adapts to insulators up to Ø 273 mm, and on the other side it adapts to insulators up to Ø 286 mm.
The cradle can be lowered or lifted easily to change the insulators using the forged steel swivel eyes at one end and at the other with the help of the steel handle (R070184) coupled to a pull rod with tourniquet, as well as the auxiliary hook (R068922).
The steel handle and hook are supplied with the cradle.
Cradle with stand
It was developed for the selective removal of an insulator chain, particularly in double, triple or quadruple anchorages. With the use of this cradle, it is not necessary to remove the upper chains in order to extract the lower chains. Built with RITZGLAS® Ø 64 mm tube as the main element, it has three Ø 38 mm tubes.
The lugs on the ends of the tubes are swivelling.
The 380 mm hook assembly is used for single and double anchor chains, while the 790 mm hook is used to remove quadruple anchor chains.
The insulator plate has dual use: on one side it adapts to insulators up to Ø 279 mm, and on the other side it adapts to insulators up to Ø 324 mm.
The cradle is supplied with tie rods for coupling to the boom, a plate for retaining the upper insulator, hooks and metal spacers.
