Auxiliary tensioner
Auxiliary tensioner
Lightweight, portable tool designed to speed up the replacement of damaged insulators in de-energized suspension chains, especially when the number of damaged insulators does not justify removing and lowering the entire chain for replacement on the ground.
SAFETY PROCEDURES
When changing insulators on de-energized suspension chains, handling the Auxiliary Tensioner requires special attention with regard to its installation in the network, in order to avoid accidents.
1 This tool is only used in de-energized networks.
2. Before installing the Auxiliary Tensioner, the electrician will first need to install a complete tensioner set (yoke and tensioning rods) suitable for the insulator chain to be worked on, in order to relieve the chain’s mechanical tension and allow the insulator to be decoupled.
3. After this, the nut and the Auxiliary Tensioner will be mounted on the insulator immediately above the one to be replaced (the replacement is carried out on one insulator at a time).
4. When coupling, make sure that the bell of the insulator only rests on the upper base of the yoke when using the
FLV11537-1 model, or on the nut when using the FLV30577 models.
