Rail Stick
Rail Stick
Used to transport the chain of suspension insulators to the structure.
Made of RITZGLAS® tube and metal parts made of aluminum and steel, the track can be installed horizontally under the tower’s spire using the metal frame saddle.
The spoon (RH4723-2), which fits insulators from Ø 267 to 273 mm, is installed on a Ø 64 mm or 76 mm pole, with a swivel eye and either a single or double sheave. The latter is used for large chains or heavy insulators, thus forming the rail pole assembly.
The spoon attached to the pole is installed under the first upper chain insulator for removal and horizontal movement to
maintenance and return to the original position.
NOTE
SUSPENSION CHAIN – The spoon rod, double pulley and rail rod assembly is designed for a nominal load of up to 400 daN (880 lb), but the following procedures must be observed in its application
:
1. Always use a double sheave with a 64 mm collar (RC400-0152).
2. The rail pole recommended for this load is Ø 64 mm (RH4721-112).
3. The maximum distance between the attachment points of the rail pole on the structure to avoid excessive bending is 2 m.
4. The Ø 64 mm collar of the double sheave must be coupled to the spoon pole at a maximum distance of 500 mm from the center of the spoon.
